Who are we, and what do we do?

Since launching in 2013, the concept for our company has been simple.  Help our clients see as much of the world as possible, in the most cost-effective manner, armed with as much information as they deem necessary (with a whole lot of client service). 

McCombs Travel Company, LLC is a product of people obsessing over travel and wanting to share that obsession with others.  We generally don’t charge our clients service fees (with the exception of air only bookings), and thus, we’re able to provide our clients with an excellent service at a price that meets and often beats the big box companies found online.

We are merely a group of friends and fellow travelers, devoted to learning as much as we can about the destinations and products that we sell, in order be the most invaluable resource of your travel preparation process.  We learn first and foremost by traveling ourselves.  What better way to learn about a place or product than to experience it firsthand.  We also devote hours and hours of time into online training.  We have certified specialists in all of the cruise lines and tour companies that you love.

What Should You Know About McCombs Travel Company?

  • We book all types of travel:  Cruises, all-inclusive packages, group/guided tours, independent travel, hotel accommodations, car rental, travel insurance, and more.  We do our best to know it all well.  If there’s a request that we aren’t familiar with, we’ll tell you.  We can still help you search and organize your travel, even if we aren’t experts in your area.  Chances are, we know someone who is.
  • We do not charge booking fees for cruises, packaged vacations, independent tours or group travel.
  • We may charge fees for booking airfare if it is not part of a tour package or if it is booked as a standalone product. This is always discussed up front.
  • We may charge fees for custom built independent vacation packages.  This could be something like a European backpacking trip. The reason we charge fees on custom built itineraries is simple.  This type of travel doesn’t typically pay us commission, and they take a large amount of time for us to plan.  In order for us to justify the time investment, we may charge a reasonable fee as compensation for our time and expertise.
  • We never charge your payment card directly. All charges will be made directly to the airline, tour company, cruise line that you are booking with.
  • We will be with you from the beginning of planning your vacation until your safe return, day or night.
  • If problems arise during your trip, we are always here to help. Lose your luggage? We’ll help you track it down. Flight delayed? We’ll help you find a new one. Someone sick during travel? We’ll help get you home and file your travel insurance claim.
  • We won’t try to sell you the most expensive product or service available. We want you as a client for life! It’s in our best interest to offer you the product that best fits your needs and stretches your wallet as little as possible. We don’t just want your business on this trip, but all of your trips.
  • OUR BEST PRICES AREN’T FOUND ONLINE!  We encourage your to use our website for researching.  If you choose to book online, you’re welcome to do so.  But, be aware that contacting us prior to booking may save you a boatload of money!
